Zan Marquis was born and raised in California during the 1950s and 60s, where he was first introduced to the real estate industry through working with his father.  After graduating from UC Berkeley, Zan read law at Oxford University in England (BA / MA 1984) and then returned to complete J.D. law degree at Boalt Hall (UC Berkeley, 1987) while receiving the MBA from Stanford University in 1987.  Bringing the Marquis Family real estate tradition to Washington, in the early 1990s, Zan developed the Peace Arch Factory Outlets in Blaine, Washington at the Canadian Border.  He then returned to Southern California to invest in strategically located Industrial Parks as redevelopment projects in the Retail and Residential sectors. Zan served on the Malibu Broadbeach restoration project as manager and board advisor for 5 years.  He has also held board positions at the San Diego Hebrew Day school, the Los AngelesTorat Emes Day School,  and has been involved in numerous philanthropic activities in Los Angeles, La Jolla, Seattle, and Israel.  Zan and his wife have raised five children and are grateful for several grandchildren.  When not in the office Zan can be found heading out of  Marina del Rey on his 60’ custom racing sailboat.
